After School Programme

After-School Programme

The Foundation believes that every school going child has the right to a safe space for them to study, learn, play and develop holistically. We also understand that many students might not have this space or support system – and that is where the After School care programme comes in.

The objective of this programme is to provide children from deserving families a safe haven for an additional 3-4 hours outside of the normal school hours. During this period of time, students will be occupied with enrichment activities and academic lessons.

The Foundation’s After-School Programme evolved and further expanded through our collaboration with Child Information, Learning and Development Centre to introduce Creative Reading and Writing (CRAW) programme to help students with creative thinking activities whilst improving their English language proficiency. Creativity prepares them with the flexible skills they will need to face an uncertain future. Developing the capacity to be creative can enrich their lives and help them to contribute to a better society. English is an important link language for international communication, information, science and technology.

The Foundation started off the After-School Programme by funding in schools that requires extra classes to be conducted by teachers to provide the students with academic support to excel in their studies. The programme commenced in 2010 with SJKC Yu Hua as a pilot school. Following the success of the programme at SJKC Yu Hua, the programme expanded to include other schools.

SJKC Kempas Baru in Johor
SJKC Kuo Min in Negeri Sembilan
SJKT Durian Tunggal, Melaka
SK Lok Yuk, Lahad Datu

The programme was running for 3 years and helped the students to focus on their studies with proper supervision by the school teachers.
