Thistle Port Dickson Resort celebrated its 2nd Anniversary with 82 underprivileged children from Yayasan Anak-anak Yatim Islam Port Dickson and New Life Care Centre Port Dickson recently. YB Tuan Haji Abdul Wahab Shamsuddin, Chairman of Municipal Council of Port Dickson and members of the media were also present to add to the merriment.
The children were welcomed by Bobo the clown and entertained with balloons sculptures and his rib-tickling antics which left the children in reels of laughter.
The Executive Chef, Imran Hamid lined up lip-smacking dishes for the little VIPs with a combination of western and local cuisine such as nasi beriyani gam, chicken portabello mushroom lasagne with ricotta cheese, roasted beef with mushroom sauce. Different menus are also prepared to entice different taste buds. Among those lined up were the Indian Corner, with all time favourites such as roti canai, murtabak and roti telur, the Pasta corner, serving spaghetti, fettuccini and linguini Napolitano served with bolognaise and carbonara sauce and the Grill Corner with favourite chicken and beef satay. The children made a beeline for the dessert stall to get their Air Batu Campur to quench their thirst after a whole day of fasting.
Ghazal performances entertained the guests while they dined, followed by an entertaining performance by Thistle Port Dickson Resort’s very own Sports & Recreations department with their sketch called ‘Olympic’, which received a standing ovation from the audience.
To wrap up the evening, Operations Manager Oliver Cortez gave out green packets to Ariffin Sarbani, representative
from Yayasan Anak-anak Yatim Port Dickson and Pastor Paul Jegan, Director of New Life Care Centre Port Dickson. The Heads of Departments for the Resort also presented each of the children with some “Duit Raya (gift money given out during Eid ul-Fitr)”, much to their delight.
Dean Rossilli, Regional General Manager of Thistle Hotels & Resorts Malaysia in his speech thanked the team members
for their dedication and commitment. He also recorded his appreciation to the media and government agencies for their
support of Thistle.
