For many, the MCO is a time for leisurely pursuits. While many have opted to learn a new skill or pick up a new hobby, for the marginalized the MCO has caused income disruption and unemployment.

The Orang Asli is one community that’s receiving the greatest blow. Already vulnerable to disease due to malnutrition and poverty, many of them rely on ad-hoc work to feed their families.

Categorized as hardcore poor, on average the Orang Asli earns as little as RM300-RM600/month, Global Peace Foundation Malaysia set up #RaiseForFood to raise funds to provide for 250 families (1,250 villages) to purchase food supplies that will tide these families till after the MCO is lifted.

Hong Leong Foundation is proud to lend their support to the Orang Asli families at Pekan in Rompin, Pahang.
